Inspired by a woman I met during my New Moon Magic Mermaid Show, the Sea cups collection is a subtle nod to Breast cancer awareness and the importance of supporting the women in our lives who have received and recovered from such an emotional diagnosis.
This woman had undergone a double mastectomy due to breast cancer, and covering her surgical scars were intricate mermaid and ocean inspired tattoos; a nod to her unwavering, and feminine mermaid spirit. I'll never forget her energy- it was that of a survivor, who deeply felt that for a moment, she had lost what made her a woman. Post-recovery, reclaiming her feminine identity was paramount to her, and in doing so, she chose the mermaid archetype to express herself.
This design has been in the back of my mind since our meeting on the seashore, and I truly hope it touches the hearts of everyone who may have similar emotions and thoughts surrounding their own experiences and diagnoses. Let this also be a reminder to keep your health close to your heart, and schedule your mammograms accordingly.
