The Barefoot Beach Club Key West

Introducing…The Barefoot Beach Club Key West.

The idea came to me in a September dream, when I had been stressing about business, finances, and goals for 2025. In case you aren’t familiar with life in the Florida Keys (and this also extends to the Caribbean), August is when things really start to slow down in anticipation for Back To School, and as tourists keep a keen eye on weather forecasts affecting travel. September is notorious for Hurricanes in this area of the world, and most businesses either cut their hours or close up shop for renovations until the pace picks up in late October. In turn, the island feels like it belongs to the locals again- with restaurant discounts in favor of the skeleton crew keeping tourism alive here as rent and property taxes skyrocket.

So it was one day in September like many I had before- losing sleep while stressing how to make things work during the quiet months of late summer. I woke up with the name, the idea, even the first deign, of what would become the first collection of my merchandise and apparel line. Instead of pondering on it, I put pen to paper. It felt gifted to me, and I had to honor it as such.

So I obsessed over start up videos, branding and merchandise, SEO, efficient production and delivery. Boring, but necessary. I soaked up what I could before I dove head first into the fun part; creation. And one particularly rainy week in September, I came down with a nasty cold. It was the perfect recipe for designing. For five days straight (work was canceled due to the heavy rains), I sat in my apartment and created designs for the collection. I hardly came up for air. I consumed every moment with ideas, colorways, inspiration, and thoughtful products that truly felt like an extension of me, my family, my travels, and Barefoot By The Sea.

Beginning with the baby line, adding toddler and youth selections, to adult women’s and menswear pieces, the first collection has something island inspired for everyone. Finding kids clothing in the Keys is difficult enough (we have limited selection for shopping), and I wanted my pieces to not just feel like a souvenir, but of island inspiration and pride of the Conch Republic as a whole. Like a warm, sandy hug.

I hope you enjoy the first pieces I’ve created, and if you choose to purchase, like, or share- please know that every ounce of support is so greatly appreciated.

Sending you love and sandy hugs from The Barefoot Beach Club Key West
